The aim of Breath is not to develop a new range of urban furniture but to find a new way of designing it. In-depth market research has shown that recent innovations in this area focus mainly on the search for materials and improvements in assembly techniques. However, the furniture itself has remained unchanged: a chair is still a chair; a bench is still a bench. This is exactly where our project responds to Parckdesign’s invitation, with its theme “Hug a tree”. The objective has been to go beyond the type of creations that already exist and to move towards a new sensitivity. The design should in fact evoke a range of feelings such as wonder, amazement, giddiness, contemplation, plenitude, curiosity, etc. In short, these are the same types of emotions that we may have experienced as children when climbing trees.
Towers: a human fascination
To quote Rem Koolhaas, Dutch architect and urban planner: “Houses are like words, streets like sentences, districts like chapters and towns like novels…. Punctuated here and there by statues and fountains…. In other words, they are exclamation marks that provide a breathing space.” Similarly, Breath seeks to punctuate living spaces with a variety of commas, stops, diereses and other architectural quotation marks. It is in this spirit that the idea arose of an exclamation mark or, more accurately, a wooden tower modelled on a tree, which could be climbed to afford unusual views of the surroundings. After climbing the tower and discovering the panorama, the visitor feels playful and pastoral emotions rekindled. At several metres above ground, the environment of the walker, whether he be a child or an adult, appears in a new light. It is possible to sit down comfortably to fully enjoy this unique moment of contemplation.

Because of its height and its gentle refined shape, this wooden tower, placed in the midst of a green space in an urban environment, becomes a new visible landmark identifiable to everyone. At its top, we can take our distance from the environment. The tower inspires us to get our bearings and discover certain details that are not immediately perceivable when on the ground. Thus the tower becomes an unusual stopping point, punctuating and altering the walker’s perambulations.
Because of its very special relationship with nature and its noble character, wood has naturally been chosen as the main material for the structure. Moreover, the size and dimensions of the tower are directly reminiscent of a large tree that would have been planted there decades or even centuries earlier.

breath convient parfaitement, cette tour s’integre parfaitement dans la nature laissant l’air y circuler et en ressortir, comme si elle respirait – bravo pour ce beau projet!!
heu , je vais faire un peu mauvaise langue, mais je trouve ke ca fait un peu usine a gaz!! mais sinon beau rendu

Une tour de 10m au milieu d’un parc … bonjour l’intégration.
EGO-centrique :pour le plaisir d’un seul, ce belvédère s’impose dans le champ de vue de tous les usagers du jardin. La “ponctuation” dénature içi le sens de la phrase ,du lieu…
Ailleurs, peut-être ?
Le plus génial, c’est celui qui va réaliser cette installation pour moins de 10.000 euros!
Effectivement, ce projet est un énorme point d’exclamation…Je ne trouve pas ça très délicat…
j’aime l’originalité, la recherche du nouveau: ici on a la possibilité d‘être carrément positionné comme dans un tronc d’arbre qui est devenu translucide.

Joli pied de nez aux stylistes nucléaires avec re-appropriation d’un style, d’une fonctionnalité, d’une conception. Attention à l’endroit où la poser, tout le monde doit pouvoir souffler…
j’aime beaucoup l’idée de l’embrasser les arbres pas directement,a l’aide d’un banc qui est placé autour d’un arbre mais spirituellement.Embrassement avec un regard.On peut regarder aux yeux des arbres pas du bas en haut mais au meme niveau.On devient plus proche.Après un veritable embrassement nous ne sommes plus les memes.Ce projet me fait penser à ca et à beaucoup d’autres choses.Une belle idée.

une idée très sympa, bravo pour ce beau projet!
La forme élancée,la matière, la couleur et les parois aérées rendent cette tour très attractive pour un parc ou un domaine. Elle serait aussi géniale dans une réserve naturelle (forêts, landes ou dunes) en tant que repère esthétique ou tour de guet pour des observations passionnantes (brame du cerfs, rapaces, …). Bravo.
A titre d’information: les proportions du projet (voir les 2 intégrations dans le parc) ne sont pas à prendre en compte… Les bonnes mesures sont sur le 1er document (plan technique). Ce qui nous donne une tour bien moins massive que ce qui est montré dans les 2 intégrations. De plus, la tour peux facilement accueillir 5 personnes.

Il est vrai que cela fait directement penser à la tour Electrabel….Peut-être une autrre forme aurait été mieux appréciée. Mais sinon excellent concept de pouvoir admirer de par le ciel le jardin dans lequel on se promène
